Congress Migrant Cell leaders in a meeting here today discussed various issues confronting the displaced Pandit community in general and migrant youth in particular.
The meeting was chaired by M L Kaul chairman of the Cell and Apex Committee member and among others it was addressed by another Apex Committee member and general secretary of the Cell Hira Lal Pandita.
Various issues including the Shrines Bill, enhancement of cash relief, age relaxation for over aged KP youth and implementation of PM's package came into discussion.
Addressing the meeting H L Pandita expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the government in general and Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Raman Bhalla in particular in resolving various problems of the community.
Terming Bhalla a man of caliber, he said the Minister took personnel interest in implementation of PM's package and it was only with his efforts that the 800 posts were de-reserved for the displaced youth and a way for future was also created through passage of the Bill.
