Khoda releases Pensioners Journal 2012

Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda nowadays released ‘Pensioners’ Journal 2012’, a helpful document revealed by Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association (CGPWA), on the occasion of Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Association held here at Police Officers’ Mess, Gulshan Ground, Gandhi Nagar.

3 cops suspended in PTS Kathua

Principal Police Training School (PTS), Kathua, SP Ashok Sharma today ordered suspension of three trainers for not handling the situation effectively last night after a scuffle between two trainee constables over switching off of the lights.

Mr Sharma has ordered suspension of Selection Grade Constable Muneer Hussain and constables Purshotam Singh and Rumal Singh.

DIG Jammu-Kathua range Farooq Khan today visited Kathua and met the recruits. He listened to their grievances and addressed them on spot.

The trainees were pacified with the intervention of Mr Khan, SSP Kathua JL Sharma, DC Kathua Zahida Khan and PTS Principal Ashok Sharma.

Later, the senior officers organized a cultural get together like dancing and singing among trainees. The fresh recruits were rewarded on the occasion.

Police said situation was completely normal in the PTS Kathua and all activities were going well.

Drunk cop opens fire in Bus Stand

A Punjab Police constable created a scare in Jammu Bus Stand area on B C Road after he opened two rounds of fire with his service rifle under the influence of liquor here late this evening.

The incident took place at around 8.45 pm when the policeman, Yuvraj Singh (Belt No. 429), clad in uniform was on duty at the gate of Estates Quarters on BC Road, near Bus Stand here. The two rounds firing by the cop created panic in busy Bus Stand area. The people and the inmates at the Government quarters came out. They snatched gun from the drunk cop and informed police.

A police party led by SHO Bus Stand rushed and arrested the accused cop. He was taken to hospital for medical examination. The service weapon (SLR) was also seized. This Punjab Police cop was deputed to J&K along with some more other cops on duty.
