Omar pays tributes to late leader on his birth anniversary
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has paid rich tributes to the Late Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on his birth anniversary on 5th of December describing Sheikh Sahib personification of the aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir and the symbol of unity and amity.“Sheikh Sahib denotes the State’s high traits of pluralistic ethos and communal harmony. He nurtured and strengthened this characteristic and cemented the bonds of love between various sections of the society and different regions of the State”, he added.“The slogan of ‘Hindu-Muslim-Sikh-Ithad’ raised and practiced by Sher-i-Kashmir throughout his life, still reverberates the valleys, plains and mountains in the State and the universal harmony cultivated by Sheikh Sahib has become the integral part of the State’s quality”, he said.The Chief Minister said that Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was the epitome of sacrifices and he always fought for the cause and dignity of general people. “His target was empowerment of common man and holistic development of the State. His vision of ‘Naya Kashmir’ embedded equitable and comprehensive development of all sections and all regions”, he elaborated. Omar Abdullah said that the establishment of powerful Panchayat System in the State is our tribute to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and our determination is to realize the dream of prosperous Jammu and Kashmir dreamt by Late Sheikh Sahib. Omar said that the best way of paying tributes to the great leader is that we all strive for peaceful, progressive and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
