The School of Languages and Literature of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) organised Literary Fest-Litlife to commemorate its foundation.
Prof M L Garg, Dean, COHSS was the chief guest while Roop Avtar Kaur, Registrar was the guest of honour in the inaugural ceremony.
Director of the school, Dr Vandana Sharma highlighted the significance of celebrations of such dimensions.
She also lauded the efforts of the students in organising the festival. Various events were held during the festival which include literary quiz, poster making, slogan writing, and software games.
Apart from students of the university, students from PG Department of English, University of Jammu and other affiliated colleges also participated in the festival.
Chief guest Prof M L Garg and Roop Avtar Kaur appreciated the efforts of the school in organising Litlife festival.
The special feature of the festival was the initiation of Literary Circle in the SMVDU which was an attempt to foster reading habits amongst the students.
Director of the school, Dr Vandana Sharma inaugurated the Literary Circle wherein about 50 students formed part of it after its inauguration.
