Durga Nagar Committee highlights demands

Durga Nagar Welfare Committee (DNWC) today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president Roshan Lal Raina to discuss various problems being faced by the inmates of the area.

While speaking, Mr Raina said that the water tankers which were put up by the PHE Department into service to supply the drinking water to people in those localities where the piped water supply is not proper were unable to perform their function due to shortage of diesel faced by them as the Department has curtailed the same. He said this way the people face problems during hot and humid weather conditions. He urged the PHE Minister to issue the directives to the PHE Department to regular supply of diesel to the water tankers, so that the people will not have to suffer regarding water problems in the future.

ML Pandita, general secretary also spoke and flayed the Jammu Municipal Corporation for delay in the construction work of lanes and drains, pending from past over two years. He urged the Municipal Commissioner to make a survey of the area and direct the authorities to start the construction work of the lanes and drains at the earliest.
