Underlining the importance of power sector within the economic development of the State, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that monetary self-reliance of the State is directly linked with harnessing of big potential of concerning 20000 MWs of hydro electricity offered within the State.

He said during a State where the entire income from all resources is Rs. 6500 crore and expenditure on salaries of state workers is Rs. 13500 crore, the sole hope for monetary self-reliance may be pinned to the facility sector.

The Chief Minister was inaugurating Power Grid Station at Pounichak in Jammu district these days. The station is of fifty MVA capability with 132/33 KV voltage level. the development of the Grid Station is accompanied with the installation of one.78 kilometres feeding line.
