With the overnight snowfall in Kashmir valley, the flight operations from the Srinagar International Airport remained suspended today.Despite the snow clearance by the Border Roads Organization from the runway and tarmac of the airport, no flight could land or take off today.
The spokesman of Srinagar International Airport, Muhammad Shafi told JK News that the flights were suspended due to bad weather and poor visibility at the airport.
Large number of passengers had reached airport despite the snowfall and slippery roads but had to return back as the airport authorities announced cancellations of flights.
Around 16 flights operate from the airport daily these days.
It may be mentioned here that with the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway Kashmir valley remained cut off from the rest of the country.
