1560 vacancies in Forest Deptt being filled up

Minister for Forests and Environment, Main Altaf Ahmad on Tuesday  informed Legislative Council that 1560 posts in various wings of Forest Department have been referred to recruiting agencies for selection. He said for the first time since 1984 selections to ACFs and Range Officers were made to strengthen the work force in the department.
 Replying to a short notice question by Murtaza Ahmad Khan, the minister said that the most of the posts under direct recruitment quota have been referred to concerned recruiting agencies and posts under promotion quota are being filled up by holding DPCs. The minister said the department engaged labourers on need basis for various developmental activities. Besides, he said engagements are made on casual/need basis to safeguard the forest property as well as activities like anti-grazing, anti-poaching, fire fighting etc.
