KPs warn to intensify struggle on Shrines Bill


Expressing its anguish over delay in passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Religious Places Protection and Management Bill, the leaders of various KP organizations in a meeting here today held under the aegis of Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust the nodal agency which is spreading on going movement in this regard has decided to further intensify its struggle.

The meeting decided to hold a protest march on April 15 from KP Sabha to Raj Bhawan where a demonstration will also be held. The meting was held at Bohri today. The KP leaders and members of the Trust said that despite the assurances by the Government from time to time it failed to pass the Bill in just concluded session of the Legislature despite the fact that the land grabbing of Hindus shrines is continuing unabated in Valley.

The meeting said that every delay in passage of the Bill is becoming a heaven sent opportunity for the vandalization of the ancient shrines by the land mafia and the black sheep.

The meeting said that the Bill listed as Bill No 2 of 2008 before the State legislature is lying in limbo for last four years and the delaying tactics adopted by the Government in this regard has hurt the sentiments of the Pandits.
