A Special Lecture on the theme "Relevance of Gandhi Ji’s Ideology and Teachings in the 21st Century" was delivered by Prof M A Wani of the University of Jammu (Kishtwar Campus) at Islamia Faridiya College of Education, Kishtwar.
Prof A H Khan, Principal of the College welcomed and introduced the guests lime-lighting the multifaceted aspects of the academic career and life of Prof Wani to the audience of B Ed students and staff and other invitees including Prof Masarat Mushtaq, HOD Education of GDC Kishtwar. Prof Khan highlighted the importance of organising cocurricular activities especially the significance of the theme in the present scenario of value crisis in national and global perspectives of education.
Kewal Krishan Sharma, former Principal HSS Kishtwar and author of many Literary and philosophical books in his presidential address reiterated the relevance of Gandhi Ji’s Teachings and quoted from his Book: ‘Fourth R of Education’- "All great moments wait till God sends someone of His choice for the fulfilment of them. Gandhi was one of those who contributed lot towards social reforms and the on-going freedom of Indians".
Lekh Raj Perihar of the College and Mr B A Shah of IFHSS emphasised upon incorporating and inculcating the values held high by great thinkers like the Father of the Nation and his contemporary thinker Allama Iqbal, while presenting the Vote of thanks to the guests and audience
