Physical Education wins by 16 runs


Department of Physical Education today registered a fine 16 runs win over Department of Urdu to reach the third round of the ongoing inter-department cricket tournament of University of Jammu on the campus, here. 
Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Physical Education set a target of 158 runs for the loss of six wickets in given 20 overs, which, in reply, Urdu could not chase and bowled out for 141 runs in 19.2 overs. 

Taqdir played superb innings of 41-ball 57 runs while Ranbir Singh and Varinder contributed 25 and 23 runs respectively. From Urdu Department, Rizwan claimed two wickets while Arshad, Mozam and Azar shared apiece each. 

Later, Department of Urdu could not attain the goal and lost all their wickets for 141 runs in 19.2 overs. Except for Arshad, who hit a superb knock of 68 (off 35 balls, 4x6, 7x4) runs, no other batsman could face the opponent bowlers. Mubashar added 13-ball 18 runs to remain second highest scorer. 

From Physical Education, Sunil Dutt and Rajinder claimed two wickets each, followed by Kulwinder, Chander and Amit Sharma, who shared one wicket each. 

Today's match was officiated by Dheeraj and Raj Kumar as umpires while Sat Paul was socrer
