Hindus from J&K be allowed to visit Sharda temple

Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has reiterated its demand that Hindus from J&K State be allowed to perform the pilgrimage of world famous Sharda Shrine in Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The demand was made in a meeting of prominent Pandits in Delhi, which among others was attended by KPC chief Kundan Kashmir and senior Pandit leader S K Gudoo.

The meeting in an appeal urged the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh and External Affairs Minister S M Krishna to take up the issue with their Pakistani counterparts to fulfill the long cherished demand of Hindus from J&K State.

Addressing the meeting Mr Kashmiri also expressed his full solidarity with displaced relief holders who are on chain hunger strike in Jammu demanding enhancement of cash relief. He urged the Government to settle the demand in view of increasing prices of essential commodities.

He also urged the Government to fulfill its promises on PM’s employment package by issuing appointment orders for waiting list candidates and also advertise the remaining 3000 posts under state sponsorship.

Kashmiri accused the Government of playing truant with displaced people and said that nothing except rehabilitation of Pundits at a consolidated place in Valley with full flow of Indian Constitution will be acceptable to KPC.
