Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today said that water has already been released in the Partap canal and in Ranbir canal it would be released beyond Bhagwati Nagar very soon.
The Minister was responding to the queries of BJP MLAs, Choudhary Sukhnandan and Jugal Kishore, who said that farmers were facing difficulties due to non-availability of water in the canals.
"The Government is seized of the problems being faced by the farmers and we have already released water in Partap Canal", the Minister said, adding "beyond Bhagwati Nagar water will be released in Ranbir canal very soon".
About the remaining portion of Ranbir canal, he said, "we have recently carried out some repair works in Bhagwati Nagar and it is not advisable to release water beyond that point", adding "we will try to release water in rest of the portion of Ranbir canal as early as possible".
