Despite scorching heat hundreds of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged the Swami Mirzakak Ashram Nagrota to participate in the annual Jag of this spiritual saint and a mystic poet of medieval period in Kashmir on his 181st Nirvan Divas today to pay their obeisance to him.
On the occasion a Maha Yagya was also performed at the Ashram by Swami Mirzakak Ji Trust Hangalgund. The Maha Yagya started yesterday evening and it culminated with Puranahuti this afternoon. The devotees were served with Prashad after Puranahuti.
On the occasion the scholars threw light on Swami Ji’s life and spiritualism who kept the Kashmiri Vaakh Parampara alive. They said that his Vaakhs were as relevant today as were during the lifetime of Swami Ji.
They said the Swami Ji was a great spiritual power that he had made a prophesy while talking to his disciples against the end of tyrant Afghan rule in Kashmir and its replacement by Sikh rule and the same happened within days.
During the day Bhajan and Kirtan continued in the Ashram which was followed by Samohik Arti. The president of the Trust D N Hangloo detailed about its functioning.
The day was also celebrated at the original Samadhi of Swami Ji at Hangalgund in South Kashmir district of Anantnag where a Hawan was solemnized by Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsang Ashram. A large number of devotees including the newly recruited employees in Kashmir Valley attended the function.
A langer was also organized for the Muslim Biradari of the area outside the Asthapan premises on the occasion.
