Sagam Samiti discusses demands

A meeting of Prabandhak Sudhar Sammiti, Sagam (Kokernag) was held today in which the problems of the displaced Pandits were discussed.

The meeting expressed grave concern over the failure of authorities in shifting PHE pipeline to main road at Sagam in Anantnag district of South Kashmir as the same was laid through the land belonging to temples and Pandits' of the village.

The meeting in an appeal to Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister, Raman Bhalla urged them to issue directive to concerned officers to shift the pipeline from the area.

It said despite the assurance of Minister of Public Enterprises, Peerzada Mohammed Syed the pipeline was not shifted till date. The Samiti has also demanded the compensation for the land belonging to cremation ground of Hindus over which primary school and health center was constructed.

The meeting demanded passage of Temples and Shrines Bill and early implementation of PM's package.
