Brahman Sabha performs Yagnopavit ceremony of 100 children

As a part of Bhagawan Parshuram Ji Jayanti celebrations, the Dogra Brahmin Pritindhi Sabha solemnized the Yagnopavit ceremony of 100 children at Brahman Sabha today.

The sacred thread investiture ceremony is a cultural and custom in Hindu tradition. The children wore the sacred thread which as per the Vedic language is known as Janeu.

The Commandant CRPF, B K Choudhary from Bihar also attended the hawan along with his grandfather.

President Brahman Sabha, Ved Parkash Sharma, said that the objective of the ceremony is to teach the mankind about significance of oneness in thought, word and deed for leading a peaceful and progressive life. It is one of the important Vedic Sanskars which is essential for man’s physical, mental and spiritual development. A person with Yagnopavit should lead a clean and self disciplined life only then this sacred thread become strong and radiant thus imbibing great moral ethos in human beings.

He said the proud symbol of duties to be performed by everyone who follows Arya Dharma is Yagnopavit. A large number of devotees attended the function. The devotees were served with prashad after Puran ahuti.

The other office bearers of Brahman Sabha including general secretary, Shakti Sharma, Dr Chander Moli Raina, Mul Raj Malhan Shastri and various prominent citizens were present on the occasion.

The ceremony was performed with vedic traditions and learned Brahmins recited the Vedic hymns during the function.
