Santosh Khajuria from Jammu wins Tagore Literature Award for Dogri
Even as the nation comes together to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Samsung India and Sahitya Akademi felicitated the best literary contributions by writers in eight Indian languages at the second edition of the 'Tagore Literature Awards' held in Mumbai today.
Named after the legendary poet, Sri Rabindranth Tagore, the 'Tagore Literature Awards' awards instituted by Samsung India and the Sahitya Akademi in 2009, seeks to recognize the best literary contributions by writers in eight Indian languages every year, with 24 Indian languages being covered by the end of the third year. This is the second year of the Tagore Literature Awards.
The winners of the 'Tagore Literature Awards 2010' are: Mr. Debabrata Das for 'Nirbachita Galpa' (Assamese); Ms. Santosh Khajuria for ' Badlondian Bahaaraan' (Dogri); Prof. R.G. Jadhav for 'Nivadak Samiksha' (Marathi); Mr. Brajnath Rath for 'Samanya Asamanya' (Odia); Mr. Vijay Dan Detha for 'Bataan Ri Fulwari - Vol.14 (Rajasthani)'; Mr. Somai Kisku for 'Namalia' (Santali); Mr. S. Ramakrishnan for 'Yaamam' (Tamil) and Mr. Chander Bhan Khayal for 'Subah-e-Mashriq Ki Azan' (Urdu).
