Postal Department introduces Flat Rate Parcel Boxes

Department of Posts today introduced Flat Rate Parcel Boxes for packing the parcel and subsequent disposal to the domestic destinations.

John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General, alongwith the officials of the Postal Department inaugurated the Flat Rate Parcel Boxes Service in a function held at Head Post Office, Mubarak Mandi Complex, Jammu.

Speaking on the occasion, John Samuel said that the Flat Rate Parcel will provide an added convenience to the customers by offering them pre-paid flat rate parcel boxes. He said that the customer would not have to bother for packaging material to pack their parcels as high quality and standardized corrugated flat rate parcel boxes specially designed to ensure safe and secure transmission of the consignments have been aranged.

He said by this way customers do not require to pack their parcels in cloth or also not to do any type of wax sealing to their consignments. He said that flat rate parcel is an air express services hence the parcels were given airlift on the same lines as speed post.

Samuel further added that with this friendly service, department will be able to standardize the parcel service for operational convenience along with added facility to the customers.
