Cycle expedition by 132 FAC Flt

132 FAC flight carried out a bicycle expedition from Udhampur to Reasi form 5th  to 7th  Mar 2012. The aim of this expedition was to inculcate a spirit of adventure and camaraderie amongst the air warriors of the unit. The cycle expedition was flagged off by Wing Commander S.S Kaila, Station Commander 39 Wg, AF on 5th Mar 2012. The route followed was Udhampur -Tikri- Katra- Reasi and back. The cyclists had a tough task of cycling on hilly roads and dirt roads and took eight hours to cover the distance. Ten cyclists from the unit had participated in the expedition which include three officers , six airmen and one NC(E). The expedition was led by Wing Commander Ajay Bhardwaj, Commanding Officer of 132 Flight. During the expedition the cyclists interacted with various army and para military formations enroute and also with civilian population. The cyclists spread awareness about the IAF amongst civilians by carrying out a lecture in schools and colleges in Reasi. The unit undertakes casualty evacuation of civilians in J and K sector and therefore this interaction with civilians will go along way in fostering spirit of cooperation and belongingness amongst all military, paramilitary and civilian population.
