Three-days pen-down strike was today started under the banner of All J&K Patwar Association (AJKPA) through out the State and it remained successful.
The speakers discussed long pending demands of the Association including pay anomaly, retrospective effect, placement of qualified GQ as Naib Tehsildar in OPG, stoppage of direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, enhancement of chances in PSC exam from four to eight, non-inclusion of Patwaries in PSGA, Departmental Enquiry Cell and providing training to all Settlement Assistant Patwaries and enhancement in their pay.
Meanwhile Girdawars and Patwaris of the Sub Division Nowshera also went on strike in support of their demands today.
They pointed out that after holding protest dharna at tehsil headquarters, they will move to district headquarters Rajouri on the third day of the strike. Mohd Yunis, general secretary criticized higher authorities for causing delay in mitigating their demands.
